Important Permit Information

All international tourists are required to obtain a permit to enter the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) region.

We will gladly assist you in arranging the necessary permits through the appropriate authorities. However, please note that permits are issued at the discretion of the local administration, and as such, we cannot guarantee approval.

That said, we will always do our very best to facilitate the process and ensure the highest chance of success for our clients.

The Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), known in Bengali as পার্বত্য চট্টগ্রাম (Parbotto Chattogram), are a strikingly scenic and culturally rich region located in the southeastern part of Bangladesh, within the Chattogram Division. Nestled between India and Myanmar, this unique area is home to 12 distinct indigenous communities, each with their own traditions, languages, and lifestyles.

Covering 13,295 square kilometers (5,133 sq mi), the Hill Tracts were historically a single district until 1984, when they were divided into Khagrachari, Rangamati, and Bandarban districts. This is the only extensively hilly region in Bangladesh, making it a prime destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

The CHT has long served as a cultural and spiritual sanctuary, particularly for followers of Buddhism—joining the ranks of places like Ladakh, Sikkim, Tawang, Darjeeling, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka as one of the last strongholds of Buddhism in South Asia.

Among the three districts, Bandarban is the most popular for trekking and adventure travel, thanks to its rugged terrain, lush forests, and indigenous villages nestled in the hills. We organize a variety of trekking tours in Bandarban, suitable for different fitness levels and interests.
